![]() ![]() Restrooms in the newer part of the campground were cleaner and had better temperature controls and ambient temperature. Heating in the two nearby restrooms was too hot, with the heat running unnecessarily despite hot outdoor temperatures. Showers also ran too hot and cool water was unavailable. Water faucets had no temperature controls and were too hot. Restrooms were acceptable but frequently dirty with unflushed toilets, dirt and toilet paper on the floors, and fields of dead bugs on the counters. Planting a few native trees would help tremendously.Ĭamp hosts and volunteers were very friendly and helpful. It is wide open, providing no shade, protection, or privacy. The entire campsite with a few hundred camping spaces has two trees. Grading the surfaces occasionally and adding some sand might help. Most campsites have many small rocks and no smooth and soft areas for tent setup. One nearby tent lost its moorings and flew to a neighboring campsite. Small metal stakes must be hammered in and are difficult to set. Sand stakes do not enter the ground at all. It is almost impossible to drive tent stakes into the ground. There is sand present, but the sandy soil is very compact and rocky, and very hard. The tent camping spots are described as being sand – they are not. There was no security at check-in or in the evenings.
